Kooo…..chhuk-chhuk-chhuk…chhuk-chhuk-chhuk….chhuk-chhuk-chhuk…..

Boy, I luv trains!! :)

Vanakkam Maadms and Saars… :)

No no, actually it shud be,

Bhaaaaiyon aur Behenon!!!!!!! Haan is Rakshabandhan ke samay toh ye hi apt lag raha hai, nai?! :)

Haan toh, the festive season has begun, and saal bhar kucchh bhi ho, is samay toh by God, Bhai-Behen ke pyaar aur Bhaiychaare ki intensity dekh kar aankhein hi bhar aati hain!!

Waise apne desh ki population ko dekhte huye toh its quite possible ki kayi behenein toh bhoole-bisre Geet ki tarah ‘ping’ se pop up ho jaati hongi…….Bechare Bhai!!....Bhaichaare ke Maare!!! Siiiigh…..my deepest sympathies…..:)

Anyways, toh mai keh rahi thi, ki if at all you’ve been postponing your train journies due south thinking,”oh!! Not the 24-36 hrs hectic journey!!”or if you hate train journies due to long waits at the stations, or whichever reason, here is why you can go on…

Yes, I am talking about this 9th Aug Bollywud release, block-buster, SRK-Deepi starrer, under the banner of Red-chillies entertainment, Rohit Shetty’s  “Chhennaai Hxprsss!!” :)

Before I start to say something about it, I want to apologise to Rohit Shetty. However much I try, I am certain to leave out some or the other thing positive from it….just as we say, Hari Anant Hari Katha Ananta……..

Rohit Shetty!! The Golmal series, with the ‘ benchik-marahonde-foslee-chuziyo’ [voiced by Kareena] - type of dialogues filling the movies upto their necks, despite they being entertainers, I wouldn’t place them in the genre of ‘clean’ or ‘good’ movies. I wasn’t expecting anything better in this one either.

No wonder then, that I was in Shock!! With a capital ‘S’…as I went ahead and viewed all of it. Was it the SRK influence??... akin to wat Aamir Khan has on his movies and directors…?? Well well, I just had to find out. How come this movie was Totally, Completely, Entirely so clean, that ppl of all ages, from 8 to 18 to 80 yrs could watch it comfortably and enjoy it too. Ab jaise ki, Last mey, aakhir mey matlab, bole toh  aakhirkaar jab Hero Heroine se apne luv ka izhaar kartaa hai, toh wo bhi indirectly!!! With a resounding, “Because I luv her!!” more as a mandatory ritual, than a  necessity!! :)

Aur isse pehle ki mujhe intractable pain abdomen chaalu ho jaata, I hunted down an interview of Shetty anna himself!! And it was only after that I came to understand everything :)

In his interview he said that wen he was young and made the first of the Golmals and especially the Golmal returns, he thought it was an ok movie and immaturely made fun of ppl and things which he thought were unacceptable, and it was just the rebellious attitude of youth that he went on making the same type of sequels, arrogantly saying he didn’t give a damn wat the critics might say. So,  it was sheer luck then, that the movie worked. To make amends now he had made this one with SRK and Deepika but of course not losing the Shetty Ishhtyle.

Talking of SRK, he completely defies his King Khan, Baadshaah khan, Superstar image, comes out of the Mr High and Mighty garb and plays the very very Vulnerable, endearing Common Man who contrary to the past doesn’t act God or preach, in fact he himself looks upon Deepi dear for his safety.

‘Baagne mey mera bot “ex-PRIEN-ce” aye’.
Deepika…oh Deepika !!!! :)…..ab kya bolu mai!! I was totally smitten by her in this movie, feel like laughing wen compare flicks like Cocktail to this one. Even though it was an action comedy shetty-made, where heroines don’t hav too much to do, it was out and out hers for sure, and she didn’t dissapoint.

The Tamil dialect which she perfected so beautifully was the critical point, made much more difficult in the successful efforts Not to Over do it anywhere and she didn’t :)…she was completely into the character….hats off to her.

Lastly, I want to share some of the moments, without talking abt which, my pain abdomen might return!! :/

-The entry of deepika in the DDLJ style…..but mark her expressions, normally a girl might just hav a smiling shy expression concerned abt her intro shot, but she showed the tense, anxious expressions of her character then, flawlessly…

-Now the real unexpected fun begins wen the Cousins start coming, the Largest one named Chinna!!!! :)))…the music changing into the trumpetting notes, one, then another, then yet another and again…the four gruesome brothers come up saare romaticism ki dhajjiyaan udaate huye and making the audience have a hearty laugh… :)))

-The whole conversation in songs….new concept, which works wonderfully.

-90% dialogues are in Tamil, but with the tight screenplay and flawless actings, we do not feel the need of subtitles….

Though now I do want to learn Tamil and watch it again is another matter!! :)

-The meek meek SRK….great comedy…every little bit is so thoughtfully and intricately worked out…

-When they alight from the train at Komman Gao, did you notice Deepika’s Mogra Veni, all shrivelled up, showing the duration of journey passed….amazing naa… :)

- the confident, ‘Baagne mey mera bot “ex-PRIEN-ce” aye’. :)

-The ace was Deepika’s Dream Sequence!!! My Gawd!!!!!!

......Thangabalee….kittavararee……..whatever…and the full stop with that Kick on the Bums of none other than the Great SRK !!! :)))))

She surpassed every one, even herself in that…..wen she is shown setting the sheet on floor, it seems that some romantic stupidities might follow, and maybe she has a habit of hitting in her sleep, but wat came on, was a total mind-buster….i don’t remember wen I laughed like this before….

“Meenamma, don’t underestimate the power of a- Halwai!!!”
And in the end she innocently says,”comme, sleep now”….bringing on another bout of laughter. My sonny boy keeps chanting the dialogue,”tu Don ki nahi, Donkey ki beti hai!!”:) “Meenamma, don’t underestimate the power of a- Halwai!!!” :)))

Well well, there are many many more….

So folks, don’t u dare miss the movie…enjoy it and Luv Rohit Shetty, Luv SRK, Luv Deepika, Luv Chinna, Luv Thangabali, Luv Durgeshwar Ardasundaram, Luv Tamil……Luv Bollywud even more….:)

As for me, I take ur leave…..till we meet again…

Happy Rakshabandhan to Bhais and Happy Wasooli to Behens!!!

Bye bye, tk care, Luv u all…..GN :)
